Flower Gifts Made of Paper

authoradmin | November 18, 2009

When you think about paper flower gifts you may envision a small child giving their mother or grandmother a paper flower they made with their own two little hands for Mother’s Day or maybe even Christmas.

While this vision is correct and children do often make a paper flower for the special women in their lives, many adults also make beautiful paper flowers for many occasions. They can be made for weddings, home decor, and even as gifts. These flowers are for many everyday items not just limited to centerpiece or a bouquet.

Pencil and penholders made of flowers make a wonder gift for a teacher, parent, sibling, friends, co-workers and even a neighbor. A ruler, clear drying glue, a pair of scissors, these are a few of the household items you may need with a flower pattern or two to make a crepe paper flower.

Another wonderful gift idea is a crepe paper flower covered treasure box or jewelry holder. Again the only items needed are a small box with a lid, crepe paper, a few flower patterns and household tools mentioned above. This is a great gift for young girls, and they can easily be made by these young girls for their friends as well.

If you have a new neighbor how about a nice flower centerpiece or a potted paper plant for their porch? Perhaps a welcoming basket with local information brochures, a gift card to a local dinner or a homemade coupon booklet good for a dinner at your home once they are settled in. You can either remove the flowers and put them in a vase or decorate the basket with flowers and use it for whatever you want.

Consider making a bookmark with a crepe paper flower. A green pipe cleaner can be used instead of the wire stem. In case the book gets smashed or gets stuffed into a purse or backpack I recommend a small flower. What a beautiful way to mark your spot in a book.

You might consider candy holders as another gift idea. A pint size milk container will work or any small or medium size container is all you need. Cover the container your choice of crepe paper and select a flower or a few and decorate the outside of the container (minus the stems) then fill the container with candy. For any one that loves candy this will make a great gift. Even men instead of using a flower to decorate the box cover it with crepe paper and attach a photo. Glue a picture of a child or grandchildren to each side of the box if it is for a dad or grandpa. Attach a tiny little flower to the box next to the photo if the grandchild is a little girl.

Any handmade gift you can think of can be decorated with a paper flower. To add a touch of elegance or love all you might add to your gift that you buy you can add a paper flower. For the gifts that can’t have a flower added you can always add one to the wrapping paper in place of a traditional bow!

CREPE PAPER USES

USES FOR CREPE PAPER

What can you use crepe paper for? There are many things you can make with crepe paper such as paper flowers, dolls, costumes, piñatas, and many more items to decorate with etc.

For many of these things such as books, e-books, articles, and instructions you can find them on the Internet or some even in bookstores.

The easist paper to work with is crepe paper the strechability of it makes it easy to shape what you are making into any form that you may want.

When your crepe paper may get wet or when you are using markers or other coloring materials and they have a tendency to run you may want to use a bleed resistant crepe paper.

Also some the crepe papers are fade resistant and that means over time the colors will not fade as easily as the ones that don’t emphasize this point. The sun also will not fade them as easily.

Most of the crepe papers any more are flame resistant which means that if they do get close to flames they will not catch on fire as quick as they would if they were not flame resistant and when not in direct contact with the flames it will extinguish on its own. This makes it a little safer but do not take for granted that it won’t burn if put to the test.

The crepe papers we like the best are the ones that are bleed, fade, and flame resistant. We like the bleed, fade, and flame the best, but don’t get me wrong we use the other types too.

Sometimes we need the crepe paper that does bleed to make some of our paper flower designs to look like the real thing so we use the crepe paper that does bleed. You may need for some of your decorations that you make to bleed so you will find out the same thing.

Have a fun time using crepe paper for whatever project that you may want to do, but remember crepe paper makes beautiful paper flowers.

Paper Flowers Holy Matrimony

Your wedding day is coming up and you are trying to decide what kind of flowers you really want. You want to create your ceremony so that it will be different in its own direction and a bit of something all will think about for years to come. You want the flowers that you have made so that they do not appear to be the same as any of the other people have.

Have you thought about making paper flowers for your wedding ceremony and your reception? These flowers can be made by you and your family and friends and will be something you can be proud of for years to come.

Paper flowers are easy to make and cost a lot less than the real ones. There are books on making paper flowers on the Internet, in the libraries, and in bookstores. Look for books that give a finished picture of the flower you want to make, instructions on how to make the paper flowers, patterns for the flowers, and a list of materials and tools. These will help to make sure you will have a good chance at making paper flowers the easiest possible way.

To start off with you need to decorate the church. When decorating the church you don’t have to use just the flowers you have chosen for your bridal party, but you can also make crepe paper flowers that will compliment the bridal flowers.

In the places we mentioned above there are instructions and patterns to create paper flowers that will give height to some of your decorations for church bouquets and such, there are gladiolus, fleur-de-lis, narcissus, or amaryllis. With a little practice these flowers can be as beautiful as nature has intened so believe me they are not as hard to make as they sound.

I suppose the simplest of the bride’s flowers should be the little ladies flower container all you need to do is create paper petals and place them in a small decorated container and the petals can be part of any flower that you want, if you want daisies, roses, lilies, or any flower that you have chosen for your wedding flowers all you do is create some of the petals to fill the container you are using.

You can go from an easy flower to a more challenging paper flower project such as the corsages and boutonnieres, and on to the bride’s bouquet and others. They can be roses, calla lilies, Casablanca lilies, daisies, jasmine, and about any flower that you might want.

You can use about any shade of color that you wish them. Crepe paper comes in lots of shades, and some of the craft places have a line of two-toned crepe paper also. Which means the paper has one color on one side and another color on the other side; this is really great for making paper flowers that you want to have a little bit of a two tone color.

You can also make your paper flowers for your reception. Centerpieces can be made for the guests table, the bridal table, and the gift table. Too, you could also use your talent of creating paper flowers for adorning the table for the cake, to decorate across the doorway or the arch that the wedding party will come through for the reception, in the front of the bandstand, and the tables for the eats.

This art of how to make paper flowers for your wedding is a great way for you to express your own artistic talents and to impress all your wedding guests with your crafting ability.
