What I Love About The Cricut Tools Kit

authoradmin | September 1, 2010

If you are like me, you have started scrapbooking without buying a large set of tool. Why should I spend money on tools when I can improvise?

But I found out the hard way that a good set of cricut tools is necessary if I want to fully enjoy my scrapbooking projects. In the past, when I started a new scrapbooking project with my Cricut I had to gather all my stuff before I could begin. I had to go through every room and I still missed a few.

There were some other annoyances also. At least once during a project I realized that my improvised tools lack the precision and quality that I need.

Now I have the Cricut essentials: A set of tools that I trust when it comes to scrapbooking.

Here’s what is included in the set of tools:

Scissors: This is not just a scissor, it’s a high precision tool that you need if you want to make a perfect cut.

Scoop: If you have ever had problems with the fragile edges of a paper cut, you know you need a scoop that you can trust. This one will do the job for you.

Spatula: We all know how difficult it is to pick up the tiny bits of paper from the cutting mat. With this tool you can finally pick them up without damaging them at all.

Knife: One of my favorite tools. It’s a high precision tool that everyone needs to finish a scrapbooking project. There’s simply no better way to make those delicate cuts.

There are some other tools and they are all useful during different times in a project. But there’s another thing I want to mention: With the cricut essentials you don’t only have all the tools you need, you also have them stored in one place. That’s way more effective than scattering them all over your rooms.

Scrapbooking can either be a project full of creativity and fun or frustrating as hell, depending on your set of tools. Alright, I’m dramatizing things a bit, but I want to make a point here.

Lots of fun can be spoiled by missing tools or tools that are of low quality and don’t meet your expectations.

There’s a set of Cricut tools that you can rely on in any situation: The Cricut Essentials.

Let me tell you what kind of tools you will find in the set and why you need them for your scrapbooking projects:

Hook: The hook is a high precision tool you can use to remove tiny scraps of paper from your cuts.

Spatula: The spatula is one of my favorite tools. Have you ever tried to pick up tiny bits of paper from your cutting mat by hand? This tool will make it easy for you.

Scraper: A great tool to quickly clean your cutting mat after finished the project, or between cut sessions. No bruises in your mat ever again.

Scoop: The classy way to open up the fragile edges of your paper cuts. With the scoop tool you will not damage your cuts in this risky situation.

Scissors: Maybe I shouldn’t even mention this but… without high quality scissors you will never have the precision and reliability that you need for delicate cuts.

Knife: A high precision tools for the most complex cuts, but you can also use it to slide it under the edges of your paper.

Bone Folder: Crease your Cricut paper, mark or score your paper.

Clear Ruler: Not much to say about this one. It’s the best tool to measure paper and card stocks for your project.

As you can see, each of these Cricut tools has a special task and during complex scrapbooking project you will be glad to have all of them close by.
