Cricut Essentials - How To Become More Creative

authoradmin | February 22, 2011

If you love Cricut then you are probably a very creative person. If you want to become even more creative, I want to give you my three favorite strategies all around creativity and the cricut essentials.

But what can you do to spark your imagination? I think we all have the potential to be a creative artists in us. Think about it for a moment. We have great ideas all the time. We don’t only have Cricut ideas, of course. The problem is that we tend to forget them just as fast as we get them. As fast as we get hit by the spark of creativity, it’s gone once again and probably forever.

The best way to remember all those great ideas is to keep them in a diary - a book full of your creative sparks! If you want to turn more of your ideas into Cricut projects you should get your own small pocket diary immediately. It only works if you really have it with you all the time. It doesn’t have to be a large book. A small one that you feel comfortable carrying with you is much better of a choice.

Whenever you get a creative spark just write it down immediately and you will never forget anything ever again.

Let’s head over to my second trick: The Cricut Essentials. That tool-kit is worth it’s weight in gold. After all, no matter how good an idea is, you need the right tools to turn it from imagination into reality. Then we sit around thinking about how to make that one important cut without ruining everything.

And my last advice is about or workplace. I guess you are like me and have a favorite place to work on your beautiful projects. The best way to prepare for the next big project is to clean up your workplace carefully! I know that some people love to do this while others procrastinate over days. But leaving the workplace messy will create a unconscious barrier in your head that stops you from starting the next project.

There you have it! I hope I was able to provide some value - now have fun testing these new concepts and the Cricut Essentials!

authoradmin | August 1, 2010

Scrapbooking can either be a project full of creativity and fun or frustrating as hell, depending on your set of tools. Alright, I’m dramatizing things a bit, but I want to make a point here.

Lots of fun can be spoiled by missing tools or tools that are of low quality and don’t meet your expectations.

There’s a set of Cricut tools that you can rely on in any situation: The Cricut Essentials.

Let me tell you what kind of tools you will find in the set and why you need them for your scrapbooking projects:

Hook: The hook is a high precision tool you can use to remove tiny scraps of paper from your cuts.

Spatula: The spatula is one of my favorite tools. Have you ever tried to pick up tiny bits of paper from your cutting mat by hand? This tool will make it easy for you.

Scraper: A great tool to quickly clean your cutting mat after finished the project, or between cut sessions. No bruises in your mat ever again.

Scoop: The classy way to open up the fragile edges of your paper cuts. With the scoop tool you will not damage your cuts in this risky situation.

Scissors: Maybe I shouldn’t even mention this but… without high quality scissors you will never have the precision and reliability that you need for delicate cuts.

Knife: A high precision tools for the most complex cuts, but you can also use it to slide it under the edges of your paper.

Bone Folder: Crease your Cricut paper, mark or score your paper.

Clear Ruler: Not much to say about this one. It’s the best tool to measure paper and card stocks for your project.

As you can see, each of these Cricut tools has a special task and during complex scrapbooking project you will be glad to have all of them close by.
