Beads and Bookmarks

The probabilities of working with beads aren’t limited to jewelry.  Beads are not only for necklaces or bracelets or earrings.  If you’re looking for a new thing to use your beads in, why not decorate your bookmarks? You can also create a bookmark yourself by trying laminated paper.  This is special because you can decide to print on it a picture of your favorite art or you can also create a collage for your buddy.  Its better to use heavy paper when doing this in order that it becomes tougher.  Do the same as when you decorate a store-bought bookmark. 

Paper bookmarks don’t always have to have fancy pictures on them.  Sometimes you can decorate them with beads.  Attempt to experiment with felt paper as it has that good fabric texture that you don’t have to sew and most importantly it does not fray.  Play around with curls and other fancy lines.  Finish it off with a beaded tail. 

Another bookmark that you can make is a straightforward book thong.  These are just cords and strings with beads tied in them.  Decorate these the same way you would a tassel. 

Whichever way you do it, making beaded bookmarks could be a really fun activity.  It is something that even kids would like and would be able to do.  Not to mention the end products are helpful, considerate, and truly special. Christmas Beaded Ornaments

It is that time of the year again and you can just about smell xmas around the corner.  There is that familiar sound of xmas carols again and are you starting to feel the xmas cheer from the people around you?  It is around this time that we start to make plans for the vacations like where we are going to be spending them, and we’re also doubtless beginning to make our Christmas shopping lists.  But one big and fun part of preparing for the Christmas season is decorating our homes.

How about beaded snow angel dolls?  Pearl seed beads and crystal beads would be the perfect ones to use for these.  They’re awfully lovely when finished and would be terribly eye-catching on your tree.  You may even use them to top the tree with rather than the common star. 

Beadwork will fit with just about any xmas tree ornament you can think of.  The most important thing is making sure the design fits well with the type of ornament you choose to create.  But then again don’t be afraid to experiment.  After all , Christmas is the perfect time to channel that inner childlike-wonder in each of us.
